Yeah, I made it.
Madrid was a very cool city, at least the 24 hours that I saw of it. Then it was a 5 hours buss ride across the barren wasteland that is central Spain. Its nice scenery if you like olive groves. Ah but Granada is a beautiful city. The old Spanish style buildings, the shoulder width wide streets of the Arab quarter, the Alhambra. With a student population of 70,000+ there are a never-ending stream of young people around.
My living situation is a big odd. I have allegedly 4 room mates, I have only met 2 and it was for seriously 10 seconds and then he left, I am quite sure he didn’t speak ANY English. this other guy who is looks like he may be 35 speaks a small amount of English. but its kind of weird, and he is never there its not a normal apparent really. its more like a floor on a dorm, but inside an apartment like building. there is a hallway with room, bathroom, kitchen branching off it and a common room on the end. so people just seem to hang out in their rooms. I don’t think they are ever there really. which is ok, but I just wish I had someone there so I could socialize with while I am at home. luckily the other people in the program are all really cool, so I just hang out with them.
I have taken some pictures but the usb wont work here so I will have to try another internet café sometime.

For some reason I was switched out my home stay and am now living in an apartment with 4 other international student. 2 are Spanish, 1 is from Brazil and the other is Lebanese.
My new location is:

The visa arrived. 15 days past the "average" time it is supposed to take.
I have euros, $150 to be exact. $200 American doesn’t get you very far.
I have transportation. Flight #1580, 8.00am departure, Seattle to Newark.
Flight #62 8.15pm departure, Newark to Madrid.
I have housing. Camino de Ronda 123, 4 A
